This session is designed for 3rd and 4th grade teachers seeking effective phonics routines to strengthen their students’ decoding and encoding skills. Participants will explore district phonics routines through interactive demonstrations and collaborative planning, gaining practical tools to implement immediately. By mastering these routines, teachers will enhance student reading fluency and confidence, fostering a more engaging and successful literacy environment.
Participants will Understand STAAR scoring for SCRs and ECRs. Identify key elements of an effective ECR. Use visual tools, rubrics, and scaffolds to guide writing instruction. Apply sentence- and paragraph-level strategies from The Writing Revolution 2.0. Teachers will work collaboratively in hands-on activities including rubric analysis, foldable creation (make and take), exemplar writing, and exploring graphic organizers. Group discussions will support reflection and classroom application. Teachers will leave with ready-to-use tools that support differentiation and student growth. Implementation will lead to more consistent writing instruction, improved student writing, and stronger STAAR performance.
In an interactive environment, I will share with teachers ideas on how they can use Canvas to make their teaching lives easier! Throughout the session, they will learn how to do a multitude of things, including spelling tests, video lectures for small group rotations, creating quizzes, creating assignments using Google drive such as ECR's and SCR's, using Mastery Connect, and more!

In this session we will focus on enhancing student writing through the effective scaffolding of constructed responses. This workshop will provide you with practical hands-on strategies to break down a constructed response into manageable, bite-sized components.

This session will walk participants through the importance of revising within the writing process. Participants will explore the TEKS expectations for revising, engage in hands-on activities, and learn how to integrate revision into authentic writing experiences.
